Acrylic Advice
and Support
Home Page
Acrylic
and gel nails are the most popular beauty
splurge there is!
In
order to save money
we've
all at one time or another
tried to do our own at
home.
You remember. Spending
hours trying to file the heap of acrylic that
was so meticulously applied, just
to have them lift,
crack and come off! This site is created for the novice
and
professional to
lend a "hand" through the tough stages of the learning
curve. It
takes quite a while to become a 'pro' in creating natural
looking, strong acrylic nails.
Please Note:
This site is only for advice on technique and in no way is
to be a substitute for a license as a professional Nail Technician. All
States require a license in order to preform a nail service on someone
other than yourself.

And
So Much More...
Hello,
my name is Gretchen Hyatt,
I have been in the
Beauty Industry for over
14 years. I love this
business and have learned so much from other techs, classes,
reading and just plain experience. Well, let's call it like it
is, I've made huge mistakes that I'll never do again!
Creating
strong, natural looking acrylics takes time,
technique and lots of advice. I
love to teach and pay back all the help I got when I was new in the
business. It meant so much
to me, and I still get excited about new ideas
and products.
Along the way there
were "experienced" techs that wouldn't help with answering
my
questions because they
didn't want to give away their "secrets". Excuse me, "secrets"? I later
found out that what they
thought were "secrets" was double priming the natural
nail before applying acrylic and gluing underneath the nail! Uh,
okay!
Well,
my belief is; as in learning to write, we all get the same
information and practice it,
but my style will not be mistaken for
yours. I mean, can't you tell your hand writing from someone
else's even from across
the room? All that to say, there shouldn't be any worry that some one
is going to "steal" your techniques and be just like you. We are all
unique (some more than other's. Hah!).
There
is a contact page
so you can ask questions, give your advice and we'll learn from each
other. There'll be tons of information about
every
part of the business and instructions for the at-home lady wanting
to just
do
her own nails better (nothing
wrong with that.
I color my own
hair!).
I'm
so glad you stopped by and hope you come back often as this site
develops.
All
my best, Gretchen
